just add sunshine. this slushy drink is best served on a patio with lots of tequila.

makes 2 drinks

what you need

  • 2 cups grapefruit juice
  • 2 oz simple syrup
  • splash of sparking water or bubbly
  • 2 – 4 oz tequila
  • pink or rock salt for rim
  • grapefruit wedges for garnish

what you do

  • pour grapefruit juice into ice cube molds + freeze overnight
  • to a blender, add grapefruit juice cubes, simple syrup, sparkling water + tequila
  • blend until you have a slush
  • rim glasses with fresh grapefruit + roll edges in pink or rock salt
  • divide slush between 2 of your favorite glasses
  • garnish with grapefruit wedges
  • Enjoy!

NOTES

// simple syrup

add 1 cup cane sugar + 1 cup water to a small pot and bring to simmer on low. once all the sugar has dissolved, let syrup cool for 15-20 minutes before transferring to a bottle. keep in fridge for up to 3 weeks.
